Just a follow up, I ended up getting 235/45/18 Michelin pilot sport 3+ All Season. I love the tires, they are sticky and work great.
I was only able to throw out the car once on purpose in the rain but xdrive corrected the car. A few times when I had to slam on the breaks, the car stuck to the ground with minimal skidding.
In retrospect, I should've gotten 245/40/18 for more traction.
Michelin pilot sport 3+ All Season is EOL and has been replaced by Michelin pilot sport 4 All Season. I ended up gating them for my Lancer last week and they seem to be softer and a bit louder than than the 3.
