The wheel manufacturer BBS with plants in German towns Schiltach and Herbolzheim has been saved.
A spokesman for the insolvency administrator said a contract was signed with the industrial holding company ISH Group based in Beykoz near Istanbul on Monday afternoon. The ISH Group is a family business with more than 20,000 employees that is active in various sectors such as agriculture, the food sector and the energy sector.

BBS filed for bankruptcy at the end of September for the fourth time in 17 years; the reasons were increased energy costs and inflation-related reluctance to buy high-quality wheels for luxury cars. Sales last year were around 50 million euros.

The new owner promised to keep all 270 jobs and also to invest significantly over the next five years.

The three letters BBS stand for the names of the former founders Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand and the town where the company was founded, Schiltach, Germany, Schwarzwald (Black Forest).
