Bristol / Bath / Cheltenham
Bristol: Right on the M4 / M5 so easy to get to. But you do have to fight your way in and out of the city to get to some decent roads.
Bath: A little way off the motorways. Only fairly major routes in and out of the area, so a little drive to the fun roads.
Cheltenham(/Gloucester): Easy access to the M5, and from London on the end of the M/A40 or via Swindon and the A419. In the heart of the Cotswolds.... wouldn't take long to get out on some nice roads.
