The Z4 coupe looks like your typical sports car (long hood, sloping roofline, two doors, kamm tail), so it always kills me when people pull out the "clown shoe" comment for them. It's easy to see how it applies to the Z3C, but the Z4? Come on.
I'd say the Z3C is more distinctive than ugly - I don't find looking at them unpleasant, like the 5GT, Panamera, or Crosstour. They just draw the eye.
