Replace rear brake pads and rotors | Album

As mentioned a while back when adjusting the parking brake, I noticed the rear pads were near the end of their life. I ordered up the parts and here is the install. Nothing fancy, just a typical rear brake job.

Parts:
$100.94 | Zimmerman brake rotor (rear, ×2) | 150.3467.20 (compare with BMW OEM 34116855006)
$48.46 | Textar brake pads (rear, ×2 sets) | 2331301 (compare with BMW OEM 34116780711)
$16.33 | Textar brake pad wear sensor (rear) | 98046010 (compare with BMW OEM 34116780711)

You're right, if I'm just going to replace the rotors as well, I might as well wait until it's metal-on-metal. Except I'd be worried the backing plate might fall out of the caliper and then I'd be abrating the caliper piston or caliper slider against the rotor thinking the horrid noise was just the pad backing plate, so here I am replacing things just a bit before the bitter end.
