I'd request some $$$ to be discounted simply because the car is coming with one less function that you expected.
However, having had 2 F30's, 2 F80's, and 3 i3's with touchscreens in some of them, I honestly don't remember which ones did and which ones did not have a touch screen simply because I never used them. The iDrive knob is the best way to navigate the system without having to be distracted by trying to use a touch screen where you have to look down to see what button you are about to press. I wish all systems were this well designed to be used without having to touch the screen. Not only is it better, but it's safer and you don't end up with fingerprints all over the screen.
