imho you have to consider the true cost of ownership. There are beautiful Alpina B7's on eBay for 39-40k. Unbelievable, until you need to maintain it. A 335i coupe below 20k is priced there for a reason.
Just search this forum, you'll see 325/330 owners saying car out of warranty, dealership wants 6k for this or that related to valvetronic. We're all human, we feel bad for those folks, but it is what it is. You go into the purchase knowing a $400 rip-off EVAP job on a Nissan is $1800 on a BMW.
So my words of wisdom are don't be fooled by a low price on a nice looking used BMW. if you can do all the work yourself, then all bets are off. g/l
