I don't think it really matters, just about every "special" BMW color ends up on other models. And the individual program makes it available to any cars you could order that way (I think there have already been pictures of an E90 in VO).
That said, I think VO will end up being the iconic color for this short run car in the future. You could certainly draw a correlation from Hennarot (E30) to Valencia Orange (E82), as I assume Dr. Kay did when he saw the color. Does it matter that you can find other non-M models in Hennarot?
