Thanks for the responses everyone, definitely respect the break in period, car has 4500kms on it, I've given it plenty of time to break in. Just thought it was really strange, this is my 4th BMW and never seen this before, my previous car was a Z4 35i and it didn't do it, possibly a difference between the N54 and N55 engines
