I wouldn't mind this as an option to slot below the 328i, but sounds like they're killing the last of the NA I6 engines in the US. To all the N52 bashers, keep in mind BMW is giving us the crappiest 3.0 NA motor available. The Euro guys get the N53 3.0 I6 NA WITH direct injection and a variable intake manifold while our 3.0 NA I6's do without.

Yeah the whole point is to keep up with Audi with cost and fuel economy, this will replace the n52 in the 328 I'd assume and there will still be a premium 6cyl engine (n55 prob), makes sense to have turbo 4 and turbo 6 as the 3 series engine offerings.
