I fully charged my 7D MkII's battery, put it in the camera last night, with the camera off, and it dropped to 97% in 8-hours. That's the GPS checking its location periodically, even with the camera off, as it discloses in the owner's manual. I pulled the battery out to keep the camera ready for my next shoot.
In field usage, with the GPS on, the battery's charge quickly drops. It's going down to 58% or 75% with just a few hundred shots over two-hours. I think that maybe it's the dual processors combined with the GPS. The other Canons with dual processors had much larger batteries.
