I am assuming your purchase is conditional on the PPI?
In which case my position with the dealer would be: remedy the faults found as per the PPI with no cost to me, to my satisfaction, or I walk away.
That's a very reasonable position to take and will be nothing new to them in terms of a customer response. Don't let them try to sell it to you as is with a discount.
There are always other fish in the sea, don't get emotionally attached to this one unless it is spot on.
