I've been hit twice in the last year. One was for $600 at the Versace store in FL and another for 5000 euro in Italy. At least the banks are quick to flag the transactions and contact the card holder.
This country needs smart card credit cards ASAP or at the very least, the mobile processing units you see in other countries so that the card never leaves your site.
