Some info on Dinan Stage 2 for N55 2012+

Hello!
I have a 2014 335i M Sport 8at on order (I guess white/beige msports w/dhp are not common).

I'm thrilled to be rejoining the BMW community (had a 535i repurchased and couldn't afford another at that time).

One of my "requirements" discussed when I ordered (and even built into the pricing as a financed aftermarket item) was dinan stage 2 sw. Well, low and behold, turns out that while dinan supports the N55, they don't do so for the 2012+ 335i (see their response below).

So, has anyone heard anything different than what they are telling me?

Since it's a lease, my only options are dinan or ppk, but the ppk seems so close in price w/out the same gains.

Wait and hope? Push for a deal on ppk?

Thanks

"We still do not have software for the F30 335i (2012+ 3-Series Sedan). The F30 cars run a completely different communication system from their E90/E92 (2006-2011) predecessors, and as a result, even though we know the N55 engine very well, the fact that we can’t communicate with it is what the problem is. They are now also using a 128-bit encryption code, which is making getting the code from the car near impossible as well.

We have owned a 2012 328i and 2012 335i for over 18 months now, and still don’t have software for it. So you can see how challenging this has been. It’s a whole new world out there regarding ECU reflashing, as BMW has massively upped their game. I’m not saying it’s going to be impossible, as Steve Dinan has some creative options in the works, but right now we are still working hard to overcome these new challenges.

So I truly don’t have an exact timetable, as no one here knows. It’s truly in the engineers’ hands at the moment. We want the software as badly as you! It’s just taking much longer than any of us could have expected."
