I bought a 2009 135i two months ago with a non-BMW dealer warranty.
It was expensive ($4000), but it's transferable and covers everything up to 200,000 km, and the best part is that there is no time limit.
The car has 60,000 now, i could have it for 10 years before i hit 200,000.
