This is good info. I will be looking to purchase extended warranty when my existing BMW warranty expires. I hope this thread gets more post and more information in it. I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't mind having some information on non-BMW extended warranties. I was planning on just going with BMW for my extended warranty. After reading this I will look into other options more.
