I don't think it would be so much of damaging a valve as to Scaring the cylinder walls. Carbon is hard stuff and if it gets stuck between the side wall and the piston, above the piston rings, it could cause a few nice scrapes before being spat out. Who the hell knows the potential(although unlikely) for any damage in the turbine and/or CAT.
With all of that said, I see this is similar to Meth injection in the sense of adding a foreign liquid(even if atomized) into the intake tract and potentially loosening/softening up these carbon deposits.
But what do I know.. I'm still learning this platform.
