Journal Entry 002: 18" Style 513M Wheel Weights/info

First thing on the agenda is to to gather info. Since we'll be upgrading the wheels later down the road, there was no reason to opt for the 19" 437Ms.

Removed the 18" wheels for data recording:

Wheels: 18x9.0 Front (ET29) 18x10.0 Rear (ET40), Style 513M
Tires: 18": Michelin Super Sport: 255/40-18, 275/40-18

Front: 44.00lb w/ tire
Rear: 48.25lb w/ tire

According to TireRack data, tires weigh in at 25lbs for 255s and 27lbs on 275s.

Front: Style 513M, (no tire): 19.0lbs
Rear: Style 513M, (no tire): 21.25lbs

19" 437M data included as reference for comparison:

Front: 45.90lb w/ tire

According to TireRack data, tires weigh in at 24lbs for 255s and 27lbs on 275s.

Front: Style 437M, (no tire): 21.9lbs
Rear: Style 437M, (no tire): 22.5lbs

It's a tough road ahead for wheel manufacturers in order to keep within the ballpark of stock weights.
