Hmmmm, having done around 5000 miles with XHP, it's very much circumstantial. I sit in heavy traffic every day and I find Stage 3 too jolty for my tastes, especially in the lower gears.
I've settled on Stage 1 with the stock shift points as it's the smoothest for the journeys I do. I know Stage 1 more or less feels stock, but the advantage is you can still set the torque limits per gear, which removes the torque limiting flat spots of the stock map.
