Possibly, but if you go too thick then it will still create a gap. That tape is pretty strong if you can keep pressure on it for long enough. Maybe put a rag on an end of a piece of PVC or wood, then cram the other side into the side of the garage or crack in the driveway to keep pressure on it for an extended period of time.

If you go to Menards or Home Depot and don't see 3M, Loctite has double sided tape that is basically the same thing. Good luck!
