I owned one. Fun car. Since BMW only made about 14k it is or will be a real collector. The drawback is that since BMW only made a small number, they are way expensive to repair. I sold mine when engine rebuilds hit about $8k. That was a cheap rebuild with a good one going for $12k. Everything about e car is unique. it only shares doors and hood with other E30 cars on the exterior and a few parts inside. Even the front and back wind screen are different. Brakes, etc, etc are all different.

It's a go cart. Light, quick and fun. All that being said I like my e90 335i much better as a daily driver. 2x the horsepower but not 2x the weight.

Owning an E30 M3 requires deep pockets. The intakes develop leaks due to design. The wheel bearings in the front wear. The valves need manual adjustment because they are shim and bucket. The heater cores eventually leak. Anyway they are fun when you aren't doing maint.
