Congrats on the soon to be new car!! The only issue I could think of when you lower the car is clearance. Also you won't have as much tread on your tires to cut through the snow. Other than that I don't really see anything else that could be problems. As long as you go with the correct lowering kit you should be fine.
Edit: oh and if you're planning to drive it on snow and such, don't go too wide on the width.
