I had a manual F30 and the hill assist will hold the car for you for a fee seconds until you take off. Not sure if you can disable or code it out. Also had to get used to not being able to blip the throttle and feather the clutch when parking, reversing, and doing slow maneuvers. There are a few things they do to assist you, but I would have rather not had.
