Good question, yes it does. I even replaced the green o-ring when I pulled the filter out to check.
I do not specifically look for the spring though (idk if it’s even possible for them to come out).
Not much point in throwing money to check but I did wonder if there could be something sticking or not working correctly and would warrant replacing the oil filter cap assembly. I can’t find anything to support that unless it’s broken.
