The deal seems to be that you have to choose the 'PlugIn' (iPhone) via the CD/Multimedia menu in order to get an option to view video. Going through 'Connected Drive' menu also gives the option of selecting Plugin but that shows the ipod interface without the video option. Seems confusing but at least it works for me now.

How is the quality of the video?
How is the aspect ratio?
Are you using the native video app, or a third party?
Do you know if third party apps with video play work as well?
I'd hate to have to encode all my videos to get this to work.
Where did you get the part? third party or through BMW? how much?
