The XD800/8 is just an amp, only crossovers and gains to adjust. The MS-8 is a full DSP processor that happens to have an integrated 8ch amp section.
Please do a search on Google and in this forum (F30 and E90) on both devices for technical and reliability details. The XD800 is considerably longer than the MS-8 so it may or may not fit the OEM amp location.
