I'm just starting to mess with HDR. I'll need to start lugging the tripod some more. Your first two shots might have been very interesting in HDR. You could have kept the same feel of the darker water area and brought out the sky more.
I'm wondering about cropping the second one with the rock. There's a duck distracting in the back of the pond and the sky doesn't really add much. I think focus on that rock and the details around it may be more dramatic. That's a nice image as is. I would have been tempted to throw a small pebble out in the water past the focal rock and gotten a picture with the concentric circles. Just a small ripple might be interesting. Of course, you never know until you try, right?
