Thanks! It was actually pure luck. I had my camera in a tripod shooting down toward the cliffs when I saw this guy coming at me. I had to yank the camera up with my big 300 2.8 on it up off the tripod and hold it like a bazooka almost straight up to get the shot. Didn't have time to change anything, but it worked out very well.

This is why I ditched the tripod for most bird-in-flight shooting. The 300/2.8 is an easy hand hold and a super sharp lens.
