Any decent insurance company will give you a comfortable grace period after buying a new car to include on your policy. It will have the same coverage the old car has.
I've never called my insurance company before I've brought my new car home.
Of course, you'll want to check your personal policy and state laws. Sometimes this only works if you are replacing a car so check that as well.
