I was also waiting on the small dash modules from benzinfabrik, but then I realised it will cost around $100 to replace all led modules(doors, footwell and dash). All this for basically one usable color since I don't really like the white on ambient lights..
So instead, I went all out and built a small module using a
digispark and replaced the door and dash modules with custom ones using ws2812 leds from a strip. The module is controlled by switching between classic/sport in the idrive, no hidden switches in the doors, no replacement of optical conductors with whole rgb strips
I'll create a separate thread here on bimmerpost with more details and photos, maybe a video using the thing, hopefully tomorrow. In a few days I hope to finish a diy as well, for anyone with the time and patience for this sort of stuff
