Ah cool, I live up in the Valley near the high school.
That was with my 1D4 with the 300 2.8 and a 1.4 TC. The 300 by itself is sharp enough to make your eyes bleed!
I kind of experiment between the 100-400, 300 with and without tc and my 400 5.6 to see which one takes the best moon shot. It's hard to tell, so I keep trying!
I really wanted to splurge and get a 500 f4, but I ordered the BMW instead. I couldn't swing both. I can always rent the really big glass for special occasions. I actually bought my 300 used from lensrentals.com, and hope someday can pick up a used 500 or even 600.
