Went out to see the Meroe Pyramids in Sudan. These pyramids are pretty small, the blocks you see are only about a foot tall most of the time.

Quick history lesson from wikipedia; Meroë was the southern capital of the Napata/Meroitic Kingdom, that spanned the period c. 800 BC — c. 350 AD. So these are a lot older than the great pyramids of Egypt. There are also temples and some other pretty cool sites in the area.

The Meroitic script is an alphabetic script originally derived from Egyptian hieroglyphs, used to write the Meroitic language of the Kingdom of Meroë/Kush.
