One can argue his being or not being the the greatest ever all day. What seperated him from everyone else was his work ethic, brains, and most importantly his competitive nature. He was gifted but certainly not the most gifted athlete to grace the sport but that competitiveness elevated him above EVERYBODY. He put the other legends out of business. The "there is no 'I' in team, but there is an 'I' in win" comment ... fucking epic! Anybody remember when he fouled the guy in the '92 olympics and the guy burst into tears because he had just been fouled by Michael Jordan?? Holy shit!
Kinda off-topic but I think this is the same thing that made the aforementioned Walter Payton one of the greatest ever, also.
