The driver, who previously put the selector lever in M/S, performs a flamboyant handbrake turn.

To pose my question as eloquently as I can; wouldn't this fuck the transmission?

Moreover, the rapid exit of the 2 door hatch has clearly been rehearsed, so I assume the handbrake turn has also been practiced - making this no one pull wonder.

I've been meaning to post this since Christmas to satisfy my curiosity but kept forgetting and couldn't be arsed to do so when I did remember.

Do discuss!
No trans damage, as there is no reason that slide would cause any.
He didn't spin the car, the car simply came to a stop with the rear coming around, which is what is happening during a RWD drift as he was doing during the ad.
Cool drifts too!

Makes me miss my 135i.
If BMW still offered the M135i I would have gone for that instead of my
335i Msport.

Thanks for posting the vid.
