I think it all boils down to what you shoot. If you need the telephoto range and a faster frame rate, go for the 7D. If you shoot mostly portraits, architecture, landscapes, and wider-angle stuff, go with the 5D. I think both cameras complement each other very well (as Dave and others would say), but they both have their advantages and disadvantages.
