All the more reason to emphasize proper training. The best protection from accidents is good defensive driving (sounds a bit like a gun debate lol). I drove the shit out of my El Camino as a young man, and despite the best efforts of the dumbass drivers in America, I never got in an accident.
You can't knock classic cars just because of a lack of modern safety equipment. They're CLASSICS! And with driving one comes a responsibility that one inherently learns as they put together and care for the car.
