Differences between N13 and N20
I'm interested in learning more about what engine is in my car, a 2013 BMW 116i.
I was reading up on the n20 before taking delivery, but as I understand now; the car actually has a n13 engine.
What are the differences, besides the obvious; like displacement.
Does the n13 have offset piston pin and crank like the n20? Does it have short piston skirts. Does the crank ride in regular bearings? Is the block all-alu? If not, does it utilize the new metal-spray coating technique like in the n20?
