As for touching cars, well its a shame they wear, but touch is part of the experience of cars, the feel, sound, etc and a perfectly natural way to connect with an object.

Well... the BMW Museum now holds special events called:
Night of the white gloves. The museum stays open late(until mid night I believe) and then give you a pair of special white gloves and encourage you to touch all their cars!! I think that is a cool way to "bond" with some of these special BMW's at the Museum.
