This badly bent bolt line sounds like a load of BS from the dealer. I know for experience they don’t bend. The caps of the security torx bolts shear off and then majority of the bolts break leaving parts in your oil pan!
Ask to see the “bent bolts”. Or a photo of same. They are likely wiggling out of pulling your pan to remove the faulty sheared and broken bolts remnants.
The more I learn about this recall, the less I like it. I was one of those who pushed NTSA for the recall and I replaced my faulty bolts myself a few years back. I’m pretty sure that the last thing I want is some clowns tearing back in there to kite up a dealer service bill!
And BTW, a genuine BMW ESS is about $400 US for the part.
