It worked great and did everything I wanted to, I think it was worth the $50. The app was able to be used on my Iphone as well as my Ipad. I actually coded with my ipad, but will have the app on the phone in case I have to restore if needing to go to dealer. I have my V1 hardwired through the SAVVY port from the obdii so I got a thin extension then a 2 way splitter and now I have the V1 as well as the OBDII wifi adapter hooked up at all times.
No issues with battery drain leaving the OBDII adapter plugged in at all times? I have a Bluetooth adapter that is small enough that I can even put the OBDII cover on with it plugged in but I think it stays powered and running even when the car is off. Also with the Bluetooth adapter the passcode is really simple and insecure so I am slightly worried about someone seeing my OBDII and potentially messing up my car. Is the wifi adapter more secure? Can you set the passcode or is it at least something longer than 4 characters and random?
