only time i took my 100-400mm with me was when we went to statue of liberty, and even then, there wasn't much point unless i wanted to read the registration on a boat or helicopter going by.

I would say 2 lenses would be good in NYC a wide angle zoom like your 10-22, and a 24-70. Only reason i say this is because of your crop body. The 24 just doesn't go wide enough of a crop in my opinion, however with the full frame, it's pretty good. however, on a full frame, i think i would enjoy the 24-105 a bit more as an every day shooter if i were to leave lenses behind. It's lighter then the 24-70, has image stabilizer and a bit more reach.

if you leave that 24-70 on your neck the whole day, you might feel it by the end of the day , that's why i have the shoulder strap for it, takes so much weight off.
