You're dead wrong. Wouldn't buy one myself, but this new Fusion is a rebadged Ford Mondeo which is admired, loved, and incredibly successful throughout Europe. While the design inside is too playful for my tastes, what with its angles and swooping lines, the build quality rivals that of Volkswagens (before the US-spec cost cutting), which is not something many other entry-level carmakers can say.

Our patrol cars over here in Germany are Ford Mondeos, and while I particularly don't care for the interior (or exterior really) it drives quite nice. It handles pretty well, has a nice suspension, and can rip some pretty sweet J turns in it... lol.

If the fusion drives anything like the Mondeo does, with the updated look of the fusion, I can see it selling nicely in the US...

Have you driven one before? Doesnt sound like you have. The fusion's are pretty tight (suspension wise) and drive surprisingly well for what they are and what they cost.

Yeah my dad had one as a company car. Seats are terrible and I hated the suspension.

Had one? This car has just come out. I haven't even seen one on the road yet.

From what I hear, it compares very favorable with a VW, and Ford has good quality and reliability now. Good looking, but not flamboyant. It'll age better than, say, a Sonata. If they could lower the cowel and grille and pushed the front wheels 6" forward it'd be one of the best looking cars on the road.
