Bumper/Quarter Panel Notch

I had a Jet Black E92 M3 that got backed into while I was deployed last year and I ended up having to refinish part of the bumper and quarter panel. The lady literally hit me going 2 mph and the damage was so minimal but I couldn't deal with it so I got it fixed.

Anyways I sold the car about two months ago and bought a 2012 Audi S4. Well after a month I missed the M3 too much and traded for a 2011 Melbourne Red E92 M3.

Now I'm very OCD about my cars, as probably 80% of this forum are, so I did a full inspection of the car at a BMW dealer and it got the "GO" except for tires which needs new ones. Not a huge deal. But when I got home (drove 10 hours to drive the car) I went back again for a second time and full inspected all of the panels (car had "no accidents" according to Carfax...but the black M3 that was backed into had a clean carfax so I take it with a grain of salt).

Everything checked out, the paint matches around the entire car, nothing looks out of place, however I'm not expert...just OCD. The rear bumper where the bumper and the quarter panel meet had some weird line where it looked like it was painted and there's a notch that I thought looked out of place so I took a photo and was just curious if anyone else had this on their car. I'm going to the BMW dealer after this to look at another M3 just because I'm that OCD...

NOTE: Both sides look identical so I think I'm fine...I just have super bad anxiety lol.

The inside rim in that last photo looks a bit ragged, but is this noticeable without a camera close-up?

It's not noticeable unless you bend down and look inside. I checked out my friends 2010 E92 M3 and it was the same. I also looked at a E92 328i and also the same. I find it quite strange, especially since the "rough" spot were all only on the drivers side

Lol thanks. I'll be good in about another week or two after I've had the car for a month or so. Every new car I get (I've had 11 in the last 10 years) I always nit-pick it and then finally let things go or realize that's the way they're supposed to be. That hood/bumper gap still bugs me even though I partially fixed it. Learn to just let it be and enjoy the car!
