Suspension/Rims Recommendations, Please.
Hi All,
i am quite new to the BMW world, and recently picked up a used CPO e93 (EDC) with about 2K miles. The vehicle is mind blowing with speed & looks. Love it for having it for only 500 miles. I am just starting the process of looking at suspension + rims for the car. 1) What kind of suspension do you recommend for the best experience? Coilover, brands? Have you put normal racing springs i.e.; H&R? Ride/comfort? 2) Rim sizes? 20? Any challenges? Tires? Just trying start the planning process. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks. _B |

^ +1. There are numerous possibilities for suspension and wheel/tire combos, all depending on what you're looking for and what your tastes are. The best first step is to review the sub-forums referenced above and get an idea of the options that are out there and review the other previous discussions/threads regarding these topics.

Did you max out your driving skill on the stock suspension already in 500 miles? You must be a pro driver. But then why are you asking this question?
Spend the money on seat time instead. This is a wonderfully engineered car and I can't imagine very many people get to the point that new suspension components make a huge difference in times vs just more experience. You just got the damn thing. Enjoy it for a while before modding it. |

LIke I said the car is amazing, and have enjoyed driving it around, but as Helmsman mentioned - looks will make the car more enjoyable! |

20's in combo with a drop = A jumpy ride ! For the tires=> PSS no doubt ! For the springs=> Swift/R Spec , very nice stance with almost Oem ride ! (works with EDC) As I said 20's and a drop...think about it,personal I would stick with 19's when the car needs a drop ! BTW....Your car has only 2K miles on it ?

I don't recommend any suspension modifications at all if your car is daily driven and rarely sees track time.
Wheels...anything goes, from mild to wild. The wheel I like on E93s are actually the OEM ZCPs |

Every thing I've done to my M3 and a 328xi before made the car less balanced. Stick to essentially stock. BMW wheels are very good wheels. Why buy a lower quality wheel for looks: for example. The faster you go, the more you will feel the way you have compromised the car.
