Neat shot Gary.

I wonder if CF is lighter than the cardboard that GM uses.

The CF will make your wallet lighter for sure. I wonder how that CF acts in a side impact. Lots of CF shards flying around can't be good.

My thoughts exactly! Wouldn't want to have to get CF splinters taken out of my abdomen after a side impact. Eeks!

Going through some old photos...came across this. My very first car, on the first night I owned it. Circa May of 83, just before my HS graduation. Powered by a 351C 4V. Roughly 300 horses and about 10 mpg.

Geez, my first was a '67 Dodge Dart with a pull starter. About 30 HP and great gas mileage.

Not so much. I blew out the rings and my bro tried to turn it into a hotrod and failed.

Those slant 6's were supposed to be good.

Apparently, not that good. :-(

Oh I don't know about that. My family's 67 Dart went 180k miles and was still running when my dad traded it in on a piece of crap Dodge Aspen 11 years later. It survived both my older brother and sister learning to drive on it, as well as many hellish cross country family car trips. Vinyl bench seats, no air conditioning and an am radio...those were the days

You could clean it out with a hose. Ours had 125k miles on the odometer, but at least another 20 or 30k that didn't get registered. My folks were staunch anti-cruising folks, so I'd drive to my friend's house and then undo the speedo cable before we went down to cruise the beach blvd. I'd reattach it when I got back to his house and then drive home. Those were indeed the days.

Took a spin over the new bay bridge today as I had to go to Pacifica to pick up a new toy. It is pretty impressive, not to mention scary to see how rickity the old span looks next to it. Taken out the sunroof by my friend. No bad driving occurred during this shot

Nothing of the toy?
A nice stroll of some 4 miles to walk from the Eastern side to the tower. I'll wait for the other side to open and go from the island.
Possibly going across it tomorrow to see the boat race.

There were tons of boats out on the bay today. I went home via the Golden Gate and it was crazy out on the water. The toy is a bit of a work in progress. I am an amputee, and have a hard time getting anywhere that is not paved and level. I am converting a Segway to a sit down type mobility device. I bought the Segway today in Pacifica.

My buddy Carl was supervising as me and a friend tore apart the band new machine

That should be pretty interesting. I did notice your supervisor watching over you.
I think if you can get wider tires, you would be better off on uneven or soft surfaces.

Then again if it does not work you can always bring it back and say if fell apart. Good luck with your project.

The off road tires and wheels are already on order

They are the same wheels and tires that come on the Segway X2 off road transporter, and bolt right on to the I2 frame. I wanted to make sure the rig worked before I changed too many things at once. Even with the stock tires, on my first run today, it was pretty adept at handling dirt and gravel. This thing is really going to change my life. I can't wait for bird season now where I can actually have a chance of getting close to areas I could only have dreamed of the last few years...
