Buying a 2011 535i F10 and need help with Mods

I am buying an F10 535i 2011 and want to put the Jb4 or Jb3 in it. Which one fits it and how do I know what harness? I also want to hear the turbo spool up in which case I was looking at intake systems but don't know which one fits and the outcome of the sound and performance. I am also trying to figure out if I should delete one of the resonators to hear a deeper exhaust sound. Thoughts?

Thanks

Daniel

There is JB4 no Jb3 for the F10.

The stock muffler basically kills any sound coming from the engine.

JB4 does makes the sound louder but I already have mufflers before Jb4, so I can't compare stock.

It is fun but definitely nothing close to the V8 turbo or a small car with N55/N54, even with stage 2. If you seek those hard pulling sensation, it is just not there.

That isnt true - there is a JB3 for the F10 and I've been running it for 6 months. Recently upgraded to the JB4 as I have a MANual (emphasis on the MAN part - I'm a big fan of stick shifts) transmission and the JB4 for MANual F10s was just released.

I found that the JB3 actually feels faster as it has more of that peaky, boosted feel - the JB4 is so smooth and linear that it masks its work.

I also have a 6MT 2011 535i and I'm running the JB4 stage 2. I was wondering when your shifting into second at around 6500 rpms do you get some lag? and yes I do change to sport mode... I've been driving a 2013 loaner with the 8 speed auto and to me it feels quicker off the line and less lag.

My car doesnt have "sport mode" :-)

I havent noticed any more lag than usual (there will always be some) but i'll give it a try today and let you know. I feel less lag with the JB4 than with the JB3 though for sure.

The automatic will have less lag off the line because the stall speed of the torque converter allows the boost to build up before the power is applied.

I didn't know there was a JB3 for the F10, guess I dig into this too late along the line, thanks!

My stage 2 has no lag either but it is too smooth, can't really tell it is really "tuned", nothing like a tuned N54 or even N54HP I would say.

The fun thing with it is that it gives a nice "bang/boom" sound when up shift above 4000rpm.

I had the JB4 on my N54 335i and loved it. I don't know exactly what harness I need and if I need the USB cable. I didn't buy it with my N54 I don't think. I know the N55 won't compare to the N54, but I want to make it as quick as possible without spending serious $$. So JB4 Stage 2 and air intake possibly?

I think JB4 Stage 2 with a downpipe.

Check the pic, if you have the same harness beside the airbox, you got harness B. If not, then it is A.

Andy, Thanks for the pic. I like where your heads at. I have heard of a few good Downpipes. Any recommendations?
