The 5" is rated for 500 HP; 7" is for more than that, and would be recommended if you're going to spend a lot of time on the track. 5" is direct replacement/no cutting or mods needed to install; 7" will require some trimming of the bumper cover/shroud. The job of the intercooler is to reduce IAT and prevent heatsoak; a larger IC doesn't necessarily mean it's going to produce more HP, as the core design and overall airflow (no 90-degree bends, etc.) with low pressure drop are what really make the difference.

I was also told that their 5“ was good for 650whp with Meth so I hope this is true...that's the reason why I bought this sucker.

If your running Meth, you will have no problem with the 5.0" on larger turbochargers. The 5.0" will support anything the stock turbos can throw at it. With most users running meth and lower intake temps the 5.0" works really well and no cutting or hacking up the vehicle.

The thing we have over most manufacturers is our core design. We spec it out for each vehicle. Where most manufacturers use a generic core that only has 7-8 charge rows, we get 10 in the same area. By doing this it gives us an extra 4 heat transfer plates (the plate on the bottom and top of the charge row) this is key for heat dissipation when you have a small amount of frontal surface area.

If you have questions let me know!

We have 7" in stock at a steal of a deal if you need a 5.0" i would recommend hitting up AR Design, I think they are the only ones with them in stock right now.

7" deal = http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11019760

Thanks Again,

Michael

I'm going to say very little, maybe 5-10 HP with an upgraded IC. Bigger intercoolers are not required for your level of modification, unless you track the car where it sees long periods of boost - e.g. road racing. In that car, they prevent loss of power from heat soak.

Just pick one and be happy!

You shouldn't pick up an Intercooler for hp gains alone, but if you want a number then look at the performance mod steps on ETS's site. Extreme Turbo Systems is the full name. It shows the gains with each mod. I highly doubt you'll make any more power on the 7" than the 5" with your mods.

Nobody can tell you exactly which one to get, but I guarantee you that you really can't go wrong with an ETS 5". I have one with way more mods than you and in Texas summers and it works great!

Ditto. I'd also look for dynos from people who aren't vendors.

You'll def make power though. I made 10whp from 5k to redline with the CXRacing at only 13psi (all stock plus tune).
