What's that gray panel?

I'm looking at a used 2007 335i, and it has a gray panel installed below the rear bumper and above the exhaust pipes. It doesn't look stock, and I was wondering what this is...

that would be the m-tech rear bumper.

Yessir! Looks 1000x better than the bland rear the e90 normally comes with.

m-tech kit. i personally detest it and would go back to stock, but i think i'm definitely in the minority on that one.
