Exclamation Different tire sizes on all tires?!?!

Okay, so I bought a 2006 325i a couple weeks ago and have pretty much had it in the garage the whole time cleaning it, installing new lights, etc. I've got a set of VMR VB3s on the way, but right now I'm just riding on the stock wheels. I noticed today that the tire sizes of the current tires are all messed up. I probably should have caught it before buying the car, but you know how it goes. The tires sizes are as follows:

Front left: 225/45-17
Front right: 235/45-17
Back left: 275/40-17
Back right: 225/45-17

I had a friend come over to check out my car and he pointed this out to me. He said to rotate the back left and the front left and I should be good until my new wheels/tires are in. I've got a five hour drive coming up this weekend and just want to make sure I'm good to drive on these, and if not what I can do to make it better. It'll just be a temporary fix until my new set is in. Any help would be great!

Didn't the 275/40/17 stick out to you?

Honestly I didn't even look. I know it was stupid not to, but my reasoning was that I was planning on buying new wheels/tires anyways. My new set should be here by the end of next week. I'm just wondering if it would be reckless to drive on them the way they are right now. Obviously my knowledge of cars isn't too great. That's why I'm asking.

Thanks, that's all I needed to know. The car is actually in amazing condition for being an '06, so I'm kinda surprised the previous owner would mess up the tires like he did. I just can't wait for my storm grey VB3s to get here!

I would definitely not take the risk of driving on 4 different sized tires. Being that the previous owner had done that, who knows what the tires have already gone through. I would recommend swapping all 4 tires out for some new ones before going on your 4 hour trek.
