Advice: Doing Meth with Cobb or go back to JB4? Arizona

Background: Warranty is expiring on 9-22 (1 week!) so I am planning mods now, looking for used parts or things on sale where possible. I love driving this car cant part with it but liked the power of my CTSV(sold) 550rwhp trapped at 121mph.
GOAL: I would like to see 450rwhp on 91 or trap 117mph or higher!

Initially looking at RB or Vargas turbos. My turbos were just replaced under warranty about 5kmi ago. Realizing I can add some boltons and reading about methanol advancements it looks automated once everything is tuned and dialed in and i can get over the 400rwhp mark.
I had a friend that ran cp-e DP, BMS SCI, + 100oct and JB4 map7 and the car was a blast to steer!! Thats the minimum high I am chasing. Guessing that was 400rwhp.

So I have searched for Cobb and Methanol Injection found some stuff from 2012.
Thinking some advancements have been made.

*Located in AZ and I couldnt find any ProTune shops so I might have to drive to SoCal for installation and tuning?
*AZ recommendations for meth install done right?
  1. I already own a Cobb AP it looks like the only solution is $850 through PTF HFS-4 and do the E-tune method $250. Add BMS charge pipe $239 = $1339
  2. BMS FSB kit $529 + JB4 off the forum $350 + BMS charge pipe $239 =$1,118

Not interested in looking at proceede at this time.

I like the HFS-4. It's arguably the best kit. So I would stick with that route.

Btw you will want to add a tank. You can get away with other tanks but the Aquamist tank is one of the best. So add another $300 to your bill.

My vote is for Jb4. Make sure you get a trunk mount tank. I used to run the WW kit in the AZ heat, and constantly had issues with getting air bubbles. I converted to a trunk mount kit will full SS 4an lines and havent had a single issue.

Keep the COBB and load the BMS backend flash with it. Throw some E85 in the mix and you will easily be able to make your power goal.

Interested in a Cobb + meth solution too, for 91 Colorado pump gas. At first would just want to run enough meth to use stage 2+ aggressive map, at high altitude. Get the bugs sorted then go protune remote. Maybe circumvent the built in limits on HA boost.

Does that make any sense?

So far the HFS-4 approach looks good.

I'm running JB4 G5 and meth here in Arizona. I had to install mine myself since no one around here can do the install. However DynoComp up in Scottsdale does good pro tuning if you decide to stick with Cobb

Yes trunk mount for sure. BMS trunk mount looks clean! Did you self install?

Dyno comp is no longer on the cobb pro tune site, and no cobb products on their site. Maybe they stopped doing cobb?

I hit up ESS tuning right here in chandler for the meth install they do them all the time on blown e90 M3, shouldn't be too much diff?

Looks like going back to JB4 + the trunk meth kit is easiest and cleanest solution, and the 2 systems talk to each other for safety.

AR design is local in Colorado doing vargus turbo pkg, fuel pump, oil change, other misc parts with protune for about $4600 includes labor bc u already have the cobb. seems like a great deal if i were in CO.

I did install myself. Not very difficult to do. By running both tunes you get the best of both worlds. The flash will control fuel, timing, Vanos, Etc. the jb4 is used to control boost, meth, auto tuning, easy map changes, logging, etc.

You get the best of both worlds. The backend flash will make the biggest difference though if you are running high concentrations of e85.

...from what I read there is fueling issues etc that the JB4 by itself cannot resolve with higher performance.

Edit. illrider above pretty much highlighted the issues

What map on the cobb do u run? JB4 would be autotune map.

You stack the cobb on top of the jb4 so that you can run the backend e85 flash from BMS, if you're looking to get the most out of your car you're going to want it so you can run higher than a 40/60 e85 mix. That plus 100% meth and you'll be putting up numbers a good amount higher than 400

However the flash is also easily uploaded using a BT tool and some software, it's a little more work but it's a lot cheaper

My car ran better with the Cobb alone with 100pct e85 then with the Jb4 stacked with the backend flash.

I am contemplating adding meth to my 100pct e85 for the cooling.

Would love to have the car always run like its 65deg and cool out

My car likes the cobb/jb4 stack. And I am currently running e60 + 100% meth with fsb cm12 and a 2.2 gal tank on compression fittings. Has worked perfect so far.

The HFS-4 kit combined with our e-tunes has proven to be awesome combo, both in terms of reliability and power.

Guys this is great information!! Wife took over the N54 while i messed around with the LSA world for a little over a year. Running dual tunes is completely new to me. Am I missing an FAQ thread on dual tunes?
I also need to figure out cobb logs so i can have some baseline data and see overall health. (ill read the cobb site instructions)

My JBD (X5D) came with a bt cable but havent used it.

HFS-4 $900 + $200 eflash kit doesnt seem as integrated and double the cost of BMS?

Regarding E85 - this reminded me why I want to stay away... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...2#post14679572

Did you read the responses in the thread you posted?

It has no basis for the argument that E85 caused the fuel injectors to fail.
